Dr. Christina Wright Fields

Associate Professor of Education

Bio

Christina Wright Fields, PhD, is a dedicated educator, activist-scholar, and researcher, who broadly explores the issues of race, gender, and equity within educational and administrative contexts. Her research, grounded in critical qualitative methodologies, amplifies the voices and experiences of minoritized educators, administrators, and students in both K-12 and postsecondary educational settings. Dr. Fields has published extensively on topics including culturally responsive pedagogy, race and administrative practices, and global education. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Fields has a distinguished background in supervising student and professional staff, fostering partnerships between student affairs and academic affairs, overseeing college preparation programs, and developing innovative multicultural and international initiatives. 

Dr. Fields is an active member of several professional associations in higher education and teacher education, including the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), and the New York Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (NYACTE). She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences, including those hosted by the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), ACPA, American Educational Research Association (AERA), and the National Council on Race & Ethnicity (NCORE). Her contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including NASPA's Region II Distinguished Excellence in Diversity Award, the ACPA Supporting Latino/a Student Success Award, and NASPA's African American Knowledge Community KUUMBA New Professionals Award. Recently, Dr. Fields served as co-chair of the Global Diversity Committee for the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) and participated in the Longview Global Teacher Education Fellowship.
